Wonder and WanderA Poem by RachelWroteItA person who grows up without Being fed Spoonfuls of love Lives in a world of questions. Do they love me? Do they really? Am I loveable at all? Am I allowed to be here? Am I allowed to ask for what I need? Am I allowed to ask for what I want? Am I entitled to want things? To need them? Am I allowed to take up space? And the questions are so loud inside their heads, They often miss the reassurances of those who do love
them. Leaving them wondering and wandering while others stand With a spoonful of love held out, And the poor, deprived, unloved souls Stare at the spoon like it’s filled with poison and not
honey and weep for the wanting and the fear. Love your children, lest they grow up to wonder and wander Past all the open arms. © 2019 RachelWroteIt |
