Together Forever?

What do you say to someone who upon first sight captures your whole heart? Some people say love at first glance never happens. I say it does. I’ve experienced that invisible tug. When I first saw him my heart nearly stopped beating, He was that everyday handsome, with a smile that dazzled. I thought we’d be together for the rest of time. However, the question that begs to be asked is, what happens when the fairytale ends?

I glanced up from the desk in my cramped workroom. To call it anything more is exaggeration in its grossest form. The air conditioning barely cut the summer’s heat.  My hands were poised over the plans for my latest design. I waited for the door to open. In stepped a man, somewhat well-dressed and rather unremarkable from the neck down. When my eyes reached his face, my heart fluttered. Looking into his brown eyes I had to wonder, was it just me or had Earth quit turning for a second? I tried to recapture my professional image before he caught me gawking. I couldn’t tear my eyes away from his nearly perfect face.. Sophisticated looking and impressive, he was my soulmate.

I believe in love at first sight..I've lost my soul mate because of Death but when I saw my actual fiancé's eyes, it was love at first sight..

A good short story which manages to turn that stereotypical, plain love story into something a little more. I'm really not a reader of genres like this, so I cannot comment on one: the unique nature of this, and two: the relevance and connectivity of emotions portrayed through this story. It's sort of a horror/suspense one. It's fairly short but action packed, haha.
