Punishment

Punishment

A Poem by Rachel_Biggs

What do you feel?

Realization,

Him or me.

Try to decide,

Separate feelings,

From logic.

What do you do?

Pull the trigger,

Close eyes,

Sigh with relief.

Drop the gun,

Run away.

What do you see?

Inky black,

Dotted with pinpoints of light.

Like a star curtain.

Orange fire,

Salvation.

What do you hear?

The shot,

His scream.

His final few breaths,

A rushing river.

Laughing,

Those at the campsite.

Then,

Screams.

Oh no...

What do you feel now?

Only spiraling blackness,

My stomach drops.

Those people….

They were innocent.
