Outside

Outside

A Poem by Rachel_Biggs

Outside wanting in

Swirling kaleidoscopes,

missing any reason.

Whirling,

glimpses of bright lights.

infested with dark shadow,

polluting life

with hate.

dark carnival rides,

fast, meaningless,

sparking a fire, within

the heart.

twisted moments,

hazy memories, none happy.

for a second,

searing, happy shouts of terror.

inhuman roiling, keening screams.

cracks. pops,

then silence.

Absolute quiet.
