Just a short poem about a woman watching her life play before her eyes

Life Before Your Eyes

Images speed by

A little child dances before me

Lunchbox in hand with a smile

Painted on perfectly

Next she's on her first date

Butterflies fill her stomach

As she gets her first kiss

Her first love she claims

Then the teenage years sneak up

Yelling and heartbreak

Laughing and partying

Celebrating each moment

With a blink of the eye

The little girl is off to college

First steps into the unknown

Years filled with excitement and bonds

A place you never want to leave

But the time comes to graduate

She enters the real world

Thrown to the curb and forced

To pick herself up

Fighting to find the light

In this mysterious place of darkness

After a job and a mortgage

A white wedding snows down

A family starts

Little children paddle down the hallway

New life full of little giggles

Brown hair soon turns gray

Little kids leave to have their own

The gray begins to overpower

Days begin to slow

The numbers are running out

And soon the final images

Of the movie play

Before the credits role on
