UnMasked

UnMasked

A Poem by Suru

The mask is gone and all that’s left is the flesh beneath.

Do not look, just turn away.

I can’t let you see this thing I am.

The monster beneath, the warped and decayed creature I am.

I can’t bear the thought that you would know.

Leave before it’s to late,

I’ll make your heart bleed out too.

I’ll tare it out and rip it up, then give it back, all the same.

See this ugliness inside of me,

Know it, fear it, and turn away.

Like all the rest.

I love this poem. It's short and really gets down deep to its meaning. I've felt similar, telling someone to leave because everyone else has. Creative, well-written, and fantastic. Job well done!
