Askance

Askance

A Poem by RachelleB

I pounced upon crumbs
deviously tossed off the cake
you battered from motive
and if I knew why, then
all hope would be shattered.

Despite this kind stance,
are my intuitions valid
or just paranoia;
better yet, still,
does it even much matter?

Most of you is gone,
far as I can tell;

unnecessary to cling
for words flung on a screen.
The barest of strings
tether these feelings.

Good work! Good sensation in verse and creation...

Thank you.
