The Craft

The Craft

A Poem by RachelleB

You seduce with jewelry;

I do it writing poetry.

Mindless of art and detail,

both truly in the end

hold different and yet vital

subterfuged flaws

numb behind masks

of hypnotic beauty;

wrought by a setting

you bathed in glitter

or words so defined

by my inspired pen.

Hidden;

they seek only to last

no short of forever.

Yours will by sheer fact,

mine by luck’s wrath.

Wow! This is incredible. I just love this poem. The comparisons of the manner of seduction was so creative.

The closing lines:

Hidden;
they seek only to last
no short of forever.
Yours will by sheer fact,
mine by luck's wrath.

well, that was just brilliant!
