Numb

Numb

A Poem by Rachel

Your harsh words no longer have any meaning.
They bounce right off me
Like light reflecting off a mirror.
Your eyes no longer burrow holes into me
Like they once used to.
Instead, when I look into them I see
What you really are,
A weak coward.
Your hands can no longer touch me,
For you see I am far out of your reach,
You no longer have a hold on me.
The truths you once spoke quickly melt away,
You have cried wolf one too many times.
I wish I could take back all the time
I wasted on you,
But since that is impossible,
I want you to know
You mean nothing to me.
