PatheticA Poem by Rachael LeaWe are but pathetic and strange As hopelessness is rearranged Doubts casting a murky sky And questions forming; why Pathetic longing fills the air Longing for our hearts to finally share Shedding on us a bright white light As emotions we try to somewhat fight Somewhat, the perfect word there For pathetic we are; too soon we care Pathetic dreamers looking for joy Curious at times, of a possible ploy See pathetic we are, we trust so fast Our hearts the prize, the die is cast Taking a breath praying for luck Maybe this time Cupids arrow stuck Love and understating is what we long for Since when does it have to be such a chore They say soul mates show when least expected Hearts and souls meld together forever connected Pathetic we may be to believe this to be true As we search for a future of forever “I Love You”s © 2016 Rachael LeaFeatured Review
