Invisible Scars

Invisible Scars

A Poem by Rachael Lea

I am so sorry for the pain you have been dealt

A warrior you are, though pain is still felt

Invisible scars left from battles unknown

Still a way was found, my have you grown

I wish I could take it all, the pain from inside

To bring out your heart, no longer to hide

To touch your face and in you embrace

To bring to you the happiest of days

To show you the good that is hidden in you

To make you feel such inspiration too

For you are amazing just the way you are

And the love you’ve received hasn’t been up to par

It isn't fair to see the damage caused to you

If only there was something for you I could do

I literally wrote this in two minutes, though I am not sure what to call it. Should I make it longer?

It's great the way it is. If you want to make it longer, make sure you don't specify the issue. Leave that to the imagination of the reader. My OCD kicked in a little with "embrace" and "days", so that's the only thing I'd change.

Thank you I will see what I can do if anything. I am glad you like it.
What a lovely and heartfelt dedication to someone you care about so much....This is the beauty of work, you touch lives with your words with such gentleness that the reader always feel connected in a deep level with the emotions of your poems....Some people born to spread such geniusness with amazing ability to capture hearts and feel them to the core and you are one of them Rachael.....Full ratings....God bless you.....

Beautifully crafted words, portraying not only the hurt and pain of someone you know, but what they mean to you and a lot about you too. A kind heart wants to ease others pain and do whatever they can to help, which makes it a beautiful heart. To put others first is a precious thing and I can only hope the love and kindness is returned.
Favourite line....And the love you’ve received hasn’t been up to par, it says so much more than the few words it contains.
Beautiful.
