I hope it doesn’t bother you so, how I feel for you

I think you feel the same way too given all the cues

You make me feel alive inside, something I have missed

You make me long to be with you, eager for your kiss

You talk to me so freely, this I’ve come to like

You captivate me with your words and show how were alike

You aren’t afraid to be yourself, and show me that you care

You speak to me in such a way, I know you’re always there

I’ve come to like you very much. More than I care to admit

For when you are around, you mend my broken spirit

I don’t think you even realize, the effect you have on me

A simple look of acceptance has me filling with such glee

I try to play it cool you know, though you see through my act

You pretend you don’t notice and for that I respect your tact

I try to show you the same respect when I deal with you

You slip in such simple ways creating for me a lovely view

A view of a charismatic man who sends my heart afloat

Bringing to me another light of all it is I have wrote

You are my inspiration when writing of all things good

You bring to me salvation just as any gentleman should

I know it is unhealthy the feelings that we try to hide

Maybe one day eventually well let our own rules slide

For right now though is not the time, to fall in love just yet

There’s just too much going on, besides we’ve only just met

Okay, okay maybe not just, but I know you get the gist

There’s just too much still to learn, too much that can be missed

So hold on, and I’ll do the same, as we grow together more

Learning each others ways and coming to truly adore

Beautifully written, flows really well and has an excitement that can't be hidden, even by the sense of waiting and hoping. Sometimes you just can't hide things the way you wish. I like the mix of thoughts that obviously delight you and the resonance of taking the sensible approach. Hope it all works out for you :)

the title suits the poem. a somewhat unique relationship, in that something that maybe isn't quite meant to be, but lights you up inside, inspires you, makes you want to talk with them. Divulge your secrets. A relationship where you share excitement in each other. Love that there is something to learn from this someone too. Saying all this, it is hard to grow together with someone who you just can't be with...but there are still positive things to be learned from one another if you see beyond the romantic feelings you have for one another.
The rhyming was lovely, I didn't find myself stopping once

Thank you. I was not sure and have learned that titling my work is the hardest thing for me to do. You are very insightful, and I am glad that the reading went smoothly. It is hard at times to put into words exactly what I want to say, I am glad you were able to understand what I was trying to say. I only hope its that simple for everyone to understand. I am afraid to even give it to the person in fear that it will be read wrong and create and awkward tension between us.

well if the relationship is as you say, this will only be treated with love and acceptance. there is always fear of rejection, it is human nature's number one fear..so normal but in this case it sounds like he feels the same.
