Requiem For You*

Requiem For You*

A Poem by Rachael
"

This is just a poem of words and such from my heart and all that jazz.

"

The lips, the bone marrow, the blood simmering inside,

The curves of the body,

The lines between you and I,

Thick,

Thin,

Fading with every dawn.

Your arms enclosing my fragile soul,

Without breaking it.

I am just as much free,

As I am yours.

I don't understand how that makes sense,

But we've never been easy to comprehend.

I love you in ways I can't quite grasp yet.

I love your hands,

The freckles covering your pale body,

Your smile lightening my world,

Your tongue coating mine in a war of tangible thoughts.

Passion.

Mindfulness turning into mindlessness.

Your fingers locked in mine,

And I am bound to you,

My eternal fragment of escaped reality,

My heaven.

Please remember as we beat hopelessly against the scathing world,

And as those who have hurt us relentlessly push on,

That I will be your everything,

And I won't abandon you.

Ever.

Fall into me, without worry, without fear, without consciousness,

And know that every day, since that blessed day my heart found you,

I wanted nothing more than to fulfill this duty engrained into my soul.

I vow to protect you,

And love you,

And help you find peace,

Just as you've done for me,

My love.
