A thirsty beggar

"Quiddity" is the inherent nature of something... its essence. So, if the only way I define the character is by calling him a thirsty beggar, (or if that's really all that he is), then his essence, his quiddity, is the fact that he is a thirsty beggar. And as soon as he drinks water, that essence is what "dies."

More a senryu than a haiku totally unexpected twist

The haiku is good, but I'm not sure if I am following it correctly or that the word "Quiddity" is the right title for this. I'll have to ponder it a bit. Good writing though.
