The notebook paper I wrote this on says "6-19-2010, 8pm, Sat night." I rarely write lyrics on their own. It's usually music, melody, and then I make the lyrics fit. Came out of nowhere.

At times I despise all the whys

Then I embrace, without haste

All the memories I've misplaced

Back to the days when I didn't feel I was a waste to this world

All the thoughts, they unfurl,

Into the sea of me

And what I used to be

When I thought I could be anything

Not what you wanted me to be

When I could breathe...and I could dream

thanks for reading and commenting: I remember the night I wrote it. usually when I write, I drink. or did. and I recall this felt like it came out of nowhere, and I definitely was sober. so this one i'll never forget.

I can't really tell where you are going with this. I do enjoy it, but are you trying to say that you have accepted who you are based on what you have accomplished? Or am I completely off?

I don't really know where I was going either. I think I just had a quick moment of words flushing out of how I felt right then and there. Maybe how I felt overwhelmed and then just wanted to stop to ask "why" this or that happened, and I went back to feeling the calm of innocence of my younger years, when my family (it seemed) didn't seem like they were watching and judging my every move.

Well, then I hope you found peace of mind! I, myself cannot look back on my childhood and feel the calm peace that others feel. So, I guess that's where I could have lost touch with what you were trying to say, here.

I like how well this flows together, It sounds like a great message to of rediscovery of one-self along with some regaining independence. :)

well, thank you. yes, I think, as I wrote in my comment to the other reviewer, above, that I think I was wanting to be how I used to be, back in the day, when things didn't seem so overwhelming. with a twist of "I got this" mixed in. :) thanks for reading and commenting.
