Forget

Forget

A Poem by Rachel Elizabeth
"

I was on a friend's computer, so it's not that great.

"
Breathe in.
Smell the alcohol on her breath.
Wonder what she's been doing.
Place a bet that she's leaving.
Breathe out.
Dream about the future.
Think of all the love ahead.
Forget that this isn't just a silly dream.
Stop breathing.
Lay down all the knives and pens.
Calm your beating heart.
And tear the entire world apart.

I like the picture I get in my mind when I read this. You don't want her to leave but you know it will happen soon. Maybe it's for the best, who knows? Live another day. Simple, yet satisfying.

Short and simple, yet so good.
