A Thought Process

A Thought Process

A Poem by Rachel Elizabeth
"

I was on a walk the other day and it made me want to write this.

"

It's just an conventional day

But I'm on the asphalt

Tears obscure my vision

Escaping the threads of my life fraying

Upon the disarray strewn in front of me

I stop in the middle of the road

On a bridge over a shallow creek

And as I'm straddling the fencing

My train of thought begins to kick into action

And a formidable thought process undertakes

I see my reflection in the water

The jagged boulders that lie barely a foot underneath the surface

I place my feet firmly on the concrete

And bend over the railing

Wishing that my fingers would slip

But they don't

I back up and sit in the middle of the street

And wait for a car to come

So I can make my escape

Yet, the road is deserted

I wipe my eyes dry

Paint a fake smile on my face

 Get onto my bike

And peddle as fast as I can

Away from the abyss

I really enjoyed your last stanza,
Such imagery there. I can see this.
It's very well written!
