Insanity is the Way of Life

Insanity is the Way of Life

A Chapter by Rachel Elizabeth
"

So how do I live when it's awfully hard for anybody to understand my intellect?

"

"Omnomnom!" I say as I smile and take a bite out of Ian's cookie when he's not looking.

"Hey!" he shouts as he glances just in time to catch a glimpse of me trying to chew the bite.

I grin slyly and spit the bit back into my hand, patting it back into place of his cookie. He frowns and throws it at me, getting pieces and crumbs into my strawberry blonde hair. "This is getting ridiculous Xanthe!"

I brush them away and glare at him. "Not cool, dude. Not cool." And then I laugh. I really have nothing to laugh at, but I do it anyway.

"You know what? You're really strange."

"But you love me even more because of it!" I hug him tight from the side, making him fall off the bench in the park we've been spending our day on. I lay on it, with my head over the side, laughing and mocking him.

"No, you're wrong." He sits up and dusts off some dirt that was on the back of his jacket. "I only love you because of the twins." He smirks and grabs one of the mounds on my chest.

I turned bright red and pulled away from his grasp. "No! Bad doggie! We save that for the bedroom, not the park!" We both started laughing at this because we are perverts... sometimes.

"Then let's get to my house! My parents are away on business trips," he says with lust and a wink.

"Hm..." I mutter in faux thought. "No! We're staying here until you go and buy me an ice cream cone! Or a burrito! Whichever comes first." I giggle.

"Where the hell am I going to find a burrito or ice cream stand in the park in the middle of November?!" he growls.

"SEARCH!"

Ian got up with a grunt and sauntered down the sidewalk. I got a nice idea.

I began stalking behind him like I was a spy. He was muttering some profane words. I was taking notes of it inside my hectic mind.

When he was getting restless I decided to make my move. I pounced on him, wrestling and pinning him to the ground. "Where's my burrito?!" I snarl.

"There's no f*****g burrito stand in any park!" he shouts.

"Really? Not even in Mexico?" I'm genuinely perplexed.

"Well I don't really know if that's the case..."

"Yay! Let's go to Mexico! Cancun! The Bahamas! Ecuador!"

"No! We're staying in the U.S.!"

I laugh and poke his nose. "For now, love. For now."

He pulls me off his back and grabs me by my shoulders, kissing me roughly. I put up barely any force, but push him away. "What was that for?!" I wipe my lips off, acting like I'm disgusted when in reality I'm far from it.

"You're much cute when you're not talking crazy," he says in an agitated tone.

"For your information, babe, I don't talk crazy," I frown and shake my head. "I talk insanity."

"Oh, well my bad. You're much cuter when you don't talk at all, blondie." He sticks his tongue out at me, trying to be funny.

I open my mouth wide and bite down hard on his tongue, keeping a strong grip as he's trying to pull it out of my teeth.

"Apologize," I try to say.

He shakes his head "no."

I bite harder.

"I'm sorry," he tries to say.

I let his tongue go. He cradles the fresh wounds. "Okay, so what are you sorry for?"

"I'm sorry that I said you were cute."

"Nope, not it."

"Okay... I'm sorry that I said you were cute when you didn't talk."

"And?"

"And for calling you 'blondie' even when I know you hate it."

"Good boy. I've trained you well." I laugh and kiss him.

"Ow!" He says and pulls back. "Watch the damn tongue! You're supposed to be my 'sweet, loving, nice, and caring' girlfriend!"

I keep laughing and grab his hand, pulling him towards the park gates because the sun is setting and my curfew is in a few minutes.

"By the way, love," I whisper.

"Hm?" he whispers back.

"Insanity is the only way of life with me."
