Seized by the teeth of human woes,
Trapped In a penitentiary of guilt,
An Unforgiving clutch of remorse and regret
Of Collected sins we cannot forget.
A monument of fears we stand against
And Bedtime prayers made to repent
For human error, the product of trial
And the endless flood of denial.
Efforts to rise remain futile,
As we battle temptations
And the influence of habit
And hide within our lonely castles
Of unbridled worries that grow and expand,
And longings to achieve, ascend and withstand
The slow tick of clocks on the wall
And the betrayal of wills that befalls
Idle hands that feed Devil games
And fuels a fury within the mind
That renders us helpless and insane.
Let us kneel at the altar of faith,
And grasp at the seams of hope
That we may rise from this abyss
To Discover the mysteries
Of some faraway place of bliss.
