I'll Try

 

I’ll try to remember that I am alive, 

When my heart is cold, I won’t cry. 

I’ll try to believe that you and I will last, 

When I need to forget, I’ll walk away from the past. 

I’ll try to remember a new day will come, 

When in doubt, I’ll believe someone, I will become. 

I’ll try to smile at everything you say, 

When I’m on my knees, I promise to pray. 

I’ll try to remember to turn to you, 

When you feel pain, I’ll be there too. 

I’ll try to believe that love is forever, 

When a moment ends and we are together. 

I’ll try to remember that God is great, 

When I am lost, it’s all up to fate. 

I’ll try to believe in now and today, 

When my chest feels heavy, I will be brave. 

I’ll try to remember not to count time, 

When I’m tempted I promise to walk the line. 

I’ll try to believe that time will heal, 

When I am alone, I promise to kneel.  

I’ll try to remember to say sorry out loud, 

When I’m wronged, I’ll still stand proud. 

I’ll try to believe that this will help a bit 

When I need guidance, I’ll remember all this.
