WHEN YOUR CRIPPLED INSIDE

WHEN YOUR CRIPPLED INSIDE

A Poem by RW Erskine
"

the picture that see is the sign for Ravenscraft Studios which I am part owner. The design is by Regina Jackson Stinnett part owner as well. https://ravenscraftstudios.weebly.com

"
When you're crippled inside
you gasp for breath
Screams fill your belly
that only you can hear
Conversations with yourself
debating over this and that
coming to terms another day
Seemingly endless turmoil
something inside
that you won't let out
Crawling, scratching
the power supreme
Giving energy to want
and need
Cradled beneath the agony
is your beauty unleashed
in all your light divine
Your eternal flame blazing
through the blackened night
To never again
let fade the light.

in experiencing emotional pain we feel crippled, it is like we are useless, the question is why me? and you try to come up with reasons to be your defense, to make you a little better, but when time comes that you have moved on then it is the only time you can tell yourself that you are whole again. nice poem and i can't help myself commenting.

Sorry to be a stickler, but the title & first line: "your" should be "you're" . . . (you are)
Other than that, I like the way you express this . . . especially how you describe grinding on stuff inside, hiding it, even tho it begs to be let out. Nicely true-to-life for us OCD's! *sigh!* Fondly, Margie

thank you Margie,
I will fix that.
The flow and feel of this piece has 'The Raven' persona. It has a great use of both image and rhyme.

thank you Cherrie
Nice font selection for the Pic.

"Your" - you're? "Conversatons" - Conversations?

Some like no punctuation - others use it for clues of meaning, intent, timing, rhythm and so on...
if you don't use it you need to be clear and word choice as well as position mean everything.

I "feel" I have the gist of this one

The font is our Ravenscraft Studios designed by us.
perhaps, but I never go by the rules.

Rules are a personal choice... we live our own lives our way - if societies allow us.
