Sparks of Fantasy

A Poem by Dazed and Confused

You weren't someone I loved.

You were a passing fling,

a moment of sweetness,

a moment of bliss.

You were someone I hoped for,

but never thought I'd have,

And then you were gone in a matter of days.

Still I look for you,

Out of the corner of my eyes

Pretending I don't care

About what could have been

But then I wonder,

Do I miss you?

Or the rush of ecstacy?

Or the pounding of my heart as I dreamt of happiness?

Still I pretend,

What we had wasn't important to me

Because I value you too much,

To not stay close by

Truly lost love. I can relate to this poem immensely. Especially at this point in time.

"You were...a moment of sweetness, a moment of bliss" - heart-wrenching. Romantic, sad, honest.

"the pounding of my heart as I dreamt of happiness" - incredible.

Please keep writing poetry. This is beautiful.
