A Walk in the Dark

A Walk in the Dark

A Poem by Rosi S. Phillips

Lead me astray

I wish to forget

With every step

Every mile gained

My burden lessens

Then I stop

And it's unbearable

A viscous cycle

And I can't cry

I've lost that ability

My feet pain

My chest labors

But I dare not stop

The pain will consume

And I will cease
