Lonely

Lonely

A Poem by Rosi S. Phillips

Tears streaking hot and wet

Across my face

The emotion is unbearable

My shell cracks and deteriorates

My arms hold no warmth

Wrapped around me

And my lips are blue

My eyes colorless, sunken inside

Quiet, poised, quiet, strike!

Fear claws at my throat

And my resolve is laying dead at me feet

The pain is unbearable

In a bed I toss and turn

Waiting for the light

Wishing it never comes

The light and the dark collide

Infinity, forever, time unchanged

The gray turning purple

Beckoning people with brilliance

Bursting forth, stealing between

With no boundaries existing
