Cry For a Soldier

Cry For a Soldier

A Poem by A Keane Mind

Listen now

as I tell a tale

a story of courage

where the good prevail

They started off young

like everyone else

had dreams of their future

and of infinate wealth

A walth like no other

full of happiness and life

and the willingness to find it

no matter the price

As the years dragged on

a war was waged

that tempted the good

and battered the brave

All seemed lost

as the battle wore on

except for one little soldier

who kept holding strong

He refused to back down

and continued to fight

through the tears and the sorrows

through the darkest of nights

with victory in sight

the soldier knelt down and wept

for peace had returned

and away evil was swept

So, remember the soldier

who kept pressing on

when the odds were against him

he refused to be wrong

There is a soldier

in each of our hearts

who will never give up

or be reluctant to start

Think of him

when the road seems rough

and cry for the soldier

who would give his life for us
