The Distance

The Distance

A Poem by A Keane Mind

Feel the Crossing of paths as they merge
The unsaid ponderings like the fluttering birds

Stay up late and the nightmares reside
Inside your brain, inside your mind

Think of the loved ones, the ones you adore
The people you’ve hurt, or always ignored

There is a chasm that gapes in between
And no way to bridge it within your wildest dreams

You will never be able to take back the sin
The engulfed all your dreams and left sorrow within

The distance you feel is made of your darkest thoughts
The things that you fear, and that you wish were lost

Are you willing to bridge that gap
The one that haunts you and makes you feel trapped

What would you do to renew your fate
To make things while and correct a single mistake

The true question isn’t is the distance within
it's if you'd travel the distance or just let it win

you definitely touch on a place that i think anyone human has been at one point or another and you present the very decisive question at the end that all of us have had to face. you also touch on the fact that most of our unhappiness is mental and that mental state is changed according to our perception of ourselves, actions, lack of actions. enjoyed. will be reading more.
