Corn Flakes

Corn Flakes

A Poem by Mark

Enough crazy women and
 enough beers and
  wasted days and
   cigarettes that I
    must be must know
    something by now.
No no now, college
 didn't work out I
  never got the job
never gave no woman no ring,
and these bills never do get paid
                       quite on time.
  I missed that bus
   it's too far a walk
  and I've still a
   couple drinks left
  and the night is warm
   and the porch is right
   and so are those shoulders...
I'll be alright here for awhile.
I am where I was maybe
just a tad this way or
   maybe I've a boxspring now,
  a box of pencils,
 shuck huck sharp
   sharpened and new no
    more scribbles, always get
  it right some time around.
That's no thing though,
 corn flakes in the breeze
             is what I
  know, is we're cats
   we're dogs and I think
I'd rather s**t in the woods
than the middle of the aisle,
    but the fine thing is
if you s**t in the row those
dry leaves in your crack and
bugs in your hair probably seem
a tid tad silly when you can
    just block your nose and
     wait for your stop and
      walk off that ride with
       a nice clean a*s.
F**k. Hard truth is there's
 always left and
  always right and
   you'll never f*****g know,
you can't see that far so
     for all it matters
      they're the damn same thing.
That's all I know.
