I question whether I dreamed you

I question whether I dreamed you

A Poem by R.M.C

Every breath I took
Was easier with you;
I used up all my luck
On you, it's true.

I look out to the sea,
Choppy waves calling me;
Tears trail down cold cheeks,
Falling to Earth as they've done for weeks.

You made the monotone of life disappear,
Installed quiet confidence in place of fear,
You brought light to my own qualities,
Made me feel your love of unimaginable quantities.

When you left, I was unable to cope,
Happiness fleeting just like hope;
I felt an essential part of me missing,
Made painful by my longing reminiscing.

Now I question whether I dreamed you,
Fear whether I'm locked in my own mind...
Have I dreamed up my whole life too?
I wonder if insanity would be most kind.
