Crystal BallA Poem by R.M.C
I enter to the sound
Of a thousand shards Striking in random harmony. Where once the light was free, Descended darkness invades, Ruby red eyes staring with lust. Heart beating fast, I needs must Forge on - into the unknown - To learn what's yet to come. Ignorance is bliss for some But for I it is a curse, This going blindly into fate. My quest for knowledge I must sate, Even at the peril of being Acquainted with truth I will fear. I sense she is near - Her beads rattle and her feet whisper As she draws closer to me. The Crystal Ball glows, allowing me to see The face that appears in the past, The present and what is yet to pass. In whispers, she reveals the Grand canvass, On which higher powers cast their strokes, Each life but a paint on a brush. She speaks and reveals much, Each word meaningless and their Overall meaning lost in the riddle. There's the start and the end, and the middle Is time filled with repeated prophesies and revelations, For she knows nothing of value; it's all an illusion - She prays on your misjudgment amidst the confusion, Using grandeur and emotive words to cast The veil of knowledge that will blind your mind. I leave the darkness and only now do I find, My wallet is gone, replaced with the knowledge That the future cannot be gleaned in advance but must be experienced.
