My relief

My relief

A Poem by R.M.C

'Twas typical British weather in the
Monotone known as the day to day;
Overcast. the sky sketched of dark shades,
Sunlight breaks through but never stays.
The cold seeps through into my heart, slowly
Turning it to ice, making my chest tight,
But just before my end, I stumble
Upon you - my warmth, my light...
                                               My relief....
You were a blossoming rose, stark red amidst the white;
In a life of turmoil, you were all that was right.

i like the metaphor used here....she is like weather...the good weather that is a relief from the storms...i have experienced weather in trinidad and tobago...rain one moment, shine the next...and life is similar, really helps to have a love to share those changes with...for sure.

nicely done..
