A striking memory

A striking memory

A Poem by R.M.C

The breeze blows softly

Like a lover’s sigh,

Stirring the blades of grass,

Setting them to dancing around where I lie.

The Grand Oak bows with age,

Offering me sanctuary in its shade,

Where I rest in the respite of the Sun’s rays

That are yet to wane and fade.

Fragrance of Nature tickles my nose like feathers,

Gently coaxing forth long forgotten times;

And near and distant sounds ease the mind

Like the soft tinkle of wind chimes.

‘Tis but a moment lost amidst many,

But it’s what’s gleamed from your penny.
