Transition to the beyond

Transition to the beyond

A Poem by R.M.C

Flowers stir in breezes soft,

Candles flicker in morning chill,

Your Temple is held aloft,

It’s emptiness shattering me still.

Your guide to the beyond stands ready,

To incant the hymns of passage and mourning,

My heart, my mind, my soul, all unsteady,

For you, my essence is yearning.

Your Temple is entombed, your Soul passed on,

Flowers are laid with you - Lilies, Carnations, Roses -

With certainty of our reunion in Heaven, the fear is gone,

I lean in to kiss your pale cheek before the casket closes.

In our Fathers land, you frolic with delight,

And I find comfort in the knowledge we will soon reunite.
