Drink and Drugs

Drink and Drugs

A Poem by R.M.C

Everywhere I look are haunted eyes,

Staring at me, into my soul,

But all I see are colours,

Bright colours everywhere.

Take a sip, a puff and a sniff

If you care for the dare "

I peer pressure you, it ain’t fair,

For this is the life of the low,

Tossed to and throw.

I won’t sugar coat it, apply a pretty bow,

Take it as it is, face value,

Death is the only way out I tell you.

You have one shoe, hobble along,

Make your way through the throng

Of the drunk and the high.

Our lives are s**t, we sit and we wonder why.

 So we take something new...

To get high.

And we take another drink...

To take away the memories.

My life is so crazy,

My head’s all messed up.

But I don’t want to change -

I want to drift along till the end.
