Fourth of July

A poem I wrote after spending the Fourth of July with my boyfriend.

Fireworks off in the distance
Sitting with the one I love.
More bangs and flashes of light,
He makes a joke and I laugh,
We exchange “I love you”s.
A kiss is shared.
Fireworks in their souls.
