6:30 am Friday Basement of Some House
Samantha woke up in what looked like to be a basement. She went to move her arm to wake up the sleeping Michael beside her, but she realized that both of her arms were shackled to the floor. She was going to have to use her voice to wake the sleeping man beside her “Mike. Wake up. Mike. Wake up,” Samantha said waking Michael up.
“Sam, what’s the matter?” Michael asked.
“Look around,” Samantha stated and Michael looked around and saw the same thing that Samantha saw.
“He took the bait,” Michael stated.
“Yup. We just have to find a way out of here,” Samantha responded as soon as Samantha finished her statements two people walked in wearing all black complete with ski masks and gloves.
“Hello, Samantha,” one of the people answered.
Samantha recognized the voice and said “Lee.”
“Smart girl,” Lee said.
“Who are you?” Michael asked the other person.
“You can’t tell,” the person responded.
Michael recognized the voice and replied “Eagle.”
“Smart boy,” Eagle said and both of the men took of their ski masks.
“Why?” Samantha asked.
“Both of our first wives had brown hair and blue eyes and they both left us for a man with blonde hair and blue eyes,” Lee explained.
“Why us?” Michael asked.
“We’re getting rid of both our problems,” Eagle responded.
“Our teams will find out you did this,” Samantha stated.
“No they won’t,” Lee said.
“Why is that because we didn’t leave them any reason to suggest you’ve been kidnapped,” Eagle stated.
Samantha chuckled.
“Why is that funny?” Lee asked.
“Because you told us to take the rest of the day not tomorrow as well,” Samantha replied.
Lee looked at Eagle and said “You idiot you were supposed to give them the rest of the week off not just the rest of the day.”
“They’re not going to find them anyway, so what’s it matter?” Eagle asked.
“You’ve got a point,” Lee said and he took out a knife with a huge blade and walked over to Samantha as Eagle took out his police issue gun and walked over to Michael. “If you move he’ll put a bullet in Mike’s head,” Lee said and he made a short cut across Samantha’s arm. She wanted to flinch, but she didn’t for Michael’s safety.
7:15 am Friday Baltimore County Crime Lab
Jennifer Gracey walked into the break room and expected to see that Samantha was in there working on her case where she always was, but she wasn’t there, so she headed to Lee’s office and found that she wasn’t there, so she went out of the building and went over to the Harford County Crime Lab. She walked through the front doors and to the front desk where she asked “Do you know if a Samantha Stone has come in today?”
“No I haven’t seen her or Michael Robertson,” the woman responded.
“Who is Michael Robertson?” Jennifer asked.
“He’s the guy that she has been working on the case with,” the woman said.
“Can I speak to the director?” Jennifer asked.
“He hasn’t arrived yet,” the woman responded.
“The day shift supervisor?” Jennifer asked once again.
“His office is down the hallway to your right all the way down that hallway and to your right,” the woman said.
“Thank you,” Jennifer said and she headed off to the day shift supervisor’s office.
She knocked on the door and she heard a voice from inside say “Come in.” A blonde haired brown eyed man rose and said “Hello, I’m Erik Zane. How may I help you?”
“Hello I’m Jennifer Gracey the Baltimore County Crime Lab day shift supervisor and I have a couple questions about Detective Michael Robertson,” Jennifer stated.
“Please take a seat,” Zane said and Jennifer took a seat in a leather chair that sat across from his desk. “What questions do you have concerning Michael?” Zane asked.
“Do you know is where-a-bouts?” Jennifer asked.
“No, but he was supposes to be here at 7:00 to work on the case with Miss Stone,” Zane stated.
“So they were working together on “The Blue Brown Killer’s” case,” Jennifer inquired.
“Yes ma’am,” Zane replied.
“I have an idea of who “The Blue Brown Killers” are,” Jennifer stated.
“Are don’t you mean is,” Zane said.
“No. I think the killers are my Director Lee and your Director Eagle,” Jennifer stated.
“Where would you get that idea?” Zane asked.
“I was looking over the case files and both Eagle and Lee’s prints were found at all of the crime scenes, but only on the front door knob, and that evidence was found coincidental because at least one of them knew the victims,” Jennifer explained.
“I see your point,” Zane added.
“If we catch the in the act its case closed,” Jennifer said.
“And we take a killer off the streets,” Zane added.
“Do we know where he might be?” Jennifer asked.
“His house and if he’s not there he owns another house in Ocean City,” Zane answered.
