Samantha’s House Saturday Night

Samantha practically ran into her living room already running late because her hair was acting up. As soon as she was about to head out the door her mom says “You better be back by nine o’clock.”

Nine o’clock, but the dance doesn’t end until eleven.”

“You have a paper to write for English and we have to go to your cousin’s birthday party.”

“Can we make it nine thirty?”

            “No, nine o’clock.”

            “But Mom"“

“Don’t but Mom me. You have to be back here by nine or you won’t be going at all.”

“Okay. I’ll be back by nine.”

“Good see you then,” Samantha’s mom said as she grabbed her and ran out the door and to her car and she practically tripped when she hit the step at the end of her porch. When she got into her car she set her alarm on her cell phone to go off at eight forty, hooked it to the strap on her shoe, and headed off to pick up Gabriella.

Black and White Masquerade Ball Saturday Night

Samantha walked into Dundalk High’s gymnasium and all eyes immediately were fixed on her in her red halter dress, black high heels, and a red mask that covered only the bridge of her nose an the area around her eyes complete with her hair in loose curls flowing down her back. “Why are they all staring at me?” Samantha asked Gabriella.

Gabriella shrugged, “I don’t know. It must be because you look amazing.”

            “Thanks Gab.”

Over by the DJ stand were Nick and Mike talking when Samantha walked in and Nick says to Mike “I have to go ask her to dance.”

Mike pats Nick on the back and says “Go for it dude!”

“Thanks dude,” Nick said as he started to approach Samantha. “Hi. Would you like to dance?”

Samantha gives him a look over and takes note that he is wearing a black suit with a white shirt and black tie complete with a mask just like hers only in black. “Sure.” He takes her hand, and she looks back at Gabriella who smiles. He pulls her out to the center of the dance floor and a slow song immediately comes on. She puts his hands at her waist and clasps them behind her back and she puts her hands at his neck and they start to dance. They stare into each other’s eyes and Samantha says to Nick “I’ve seen your eyes before, but I just can’t remember them.”

“I fell the same way about you.”

Samantha smiles and says “I’ll take that as a compliment.”

            “It definitely was.”

“Good ‘cause if it wasn’t I’d have to punch you.”

Nick laughs shakes his head and says “I’ve heard your voice. I’ve seen your eyes. I just don’t know who you are.”

“I fell the same way about you.”

            “Hey! You stole my line.”

            “Oh well. Too bad.”

Nick chuckled and says “You’re pretty funny.”

“Thank you, but I don’t try to be. I guess I just am.”

“People say the same thing about me.”

“What? That you’re pretty funny. I beg to differ.”

Nick chuckles again and says “There you go again.”

“You know it’s really bugging me that I don’t know who you are.”

“Maybe this will help you,” Nick says as he leans in to give her a kiss and his hand moves from her waist to the back of her head and they share a passionate kiss. Nick pulls away from his kiss and takes off his mask revealing his identity.

“Nick Wiley!” Samantha exclaims as her cell phone alarm goes off and she runs for the door. In the process she snatches Gabriella from whom she was dancing with and runs out the door and loses her cell phone as she bumps into Gabriella. Nick follows her and grabs her cell phone and follows her out the door, but she was already in her car and hurriedly sped off.
