Ghosts

Ghosts

A Poem by R. J. Maputi

Oh to build our homes
Upon swirls of tornadoes

And watch over rubble

As they blossom and ripen beneath our windows

Oh to soar higher and higher

The flapping of our wings

From the ravenousness of dogs flee us dodoes

Eggshell fissures in nests up high from the barking and the howling

Hatching, very soon to soar higher and higher us dodo ghosts

Oh to breeze by these dances of fans

Shamisen spirits clinging to tails of smoke

Climbing ladders and ladders of lightning, climbing this midnight blue oubliette sky

Tempests breeze by in cherry blossom showers

Dispersed cherry blossom petals in kimonos dressed, breezing by geishas

Oh to build our homes

Upon swirls of tornadoes

And watch over rubble

As they blossom and ripen beneath our windows

As our ghosts roam

I love this, great concept, Your use of repetition in the final part really tied the whole poem together. Overall it's a very nice piece of writing, well done and keep it up.
