!905 - 1923

A Poem by RJKT
"

Just words

"

Copperplate 'neath sepia-tone.
Landscapes long-swept
off wraith-hexed sands.

Did the mantle drape,
the yearnings surge,
the flame pass on ?

...The fronds- their swayings stilled;
breast-bared maidens- their high-noon frolic frozen;
( Their titterings hushed.)
the "kettuvallam' straining upstream-
at anchor on the heaving bore;
the reaper's scythe poised -
stock-still
over god-touched green

-Still await
their breath of life.
