The Friendly death

The Friendly death

A Poem by Ria Carol
"

The poet describes the loss of a person well known to her, and displays the stupidity of the people who assume that they will never die.

"
When I come knocking on your door,
know your time has come.
The time to bid adieu,
and a time to overcome.

All your memories will remain, but a dream,
to those, still remaining in the stream.
The pain of goodbye will remain,
in the hearts of the vain.

Their time will also come one day
and until that day they will say,
"why? oh why?" does he fore say
"I will come for you one day."

So all I will tell you today
is to treat me as a friend that day.

Thank you for such sweet words Ana, I'm sure you are an amazing person yourself :)
This is a lofty-sounding & well-written ode to the mortality we all must face, be it loved ones or our own. I like the tones of acceptance, as first described in the title, & carried thru-out. Everyone grieves differently, but eventually we all reach this place of acceptance. Nice work.

Thank you very much for your kind review. I really appreciate it :)
Ria, my friend, thank you for this heart touching write, I know how it feels because I have already lost my father at a very young age... I pray that your frnd and his family find peace and assurance in the care of God, may God brings serenity in his mind... Excellent tribute and a thought provoking write about the universal truth of our existence and that is death... I love seeing your progress...

Sincerely
Dhiman
