noisy angelsA Poem by R.G. Johnsonnoisy angels
noisy angels drag the sound system down.
cherub thoughts mugged by sensation and tightrope-hanged saints. holy umbrellas dangle frigid digits that roll the tickertape sermon of hidden plagues.
indifferent ancient rains fall profoundly.
rationality dismembered in a drive-by interview; collision echoes eyes and entrails.
mechanized Mecca fed murder-stuffed broadcast cakes and cackle-mouthed tricksters who sing Dow Jones “hallelujahs” and a franchised “amen.”
the savvy sun shines golden.
rapist preachers sling muddy comets at all public deeds. good and evil are just two more flavors to tongue about in speculative social copulation.
the oblivious yard-kids laugh majesty.
if not for beautiful nuisances, we would be imbibed by a news-puppet’s misuse of murder metaphor or crushed by a politician’s porky vacation package.
and the crystal waves would happily lap empty shores.
so I smile defiance with the rebellious chirping of finches, and blindly rove on.
