Fear Myself

Fear Myself

A Poem by Robbie Churchill

Fear consumes me
It grabs a hold
Of every thought
And turns me cold

I shiver and kneel
In a lightless room
My darkest moments
Lay in this tomb

Gasping for air
Reaching for help
But all that surrounds me
Is my own hell

Hands become clenched
Teeth I grit
Slamming my fist
I will not quit

Pain and anger
Flow through my veins
I struggle to break
Through the devil's chains

My eyes slam shut
Stare straight into fear
I'm scare of myself
For only I appear

Shaking the image
Bursting through steel
Overcoming life's
Biggest ordeal

Breathing at last
I discover the light
That'll carry me home
To a peaceful night
