SO SLICK

SO SLICK

A Poem by Keith Williams
"

DECEPTION, LIES, AND LOVE

"

I thought she was slick
the first time i laid eyes on her
with her shy, but flirtatious attitude
she was so innocent with helpless eyes
that’s until i heard her countless lies
man! the truth she denies
like she loves me
disappears with the wind
then reappears when the wind has died
still the truth is denied
i’m so gullible, so naive
that maybe everything i must believe
my first thought was vunerable
boy!! was i so gullible
trapped in seduction’s snare
the stupidity was more than i could bear
her facial expressions should recieve Academy awards
her temper a Tony
so good is she
I really don’t know if she’s a phony
my first instinct says she’s playing me
but i’m a sucker for love see
destined probably for misery
so slick i say
that i’m tempted to walk away
yet what if i’m wrong
damn!! damn!!! damn!!
it’s the same old song
then i turn around she’s gone
