Questions for creating a well rounded storyA Story by Robi FarrisThese are some questions that I hope will help guide fellow writers while they create their own stories.THE CHARACTER:
What is the character
called? What is the character’s
gender? How old is the
character? What does the character
look like? What is the character’s
base personality? Where does the
character live? Where is the character
from? What kind of childhood
did the character have? What does the character
do for a living? How does the character
deal with conflict and change? Who else is in the
character’s life? What is the character’s
call to action? What is the character’s
goal or motivation in the story? How has the character
changed at the end of the story?
THE STORY:
What is the genre? What is the Point of
View? What are the causes and
effects? What is the setting? Does the setting have
any significance? When is the story
taking place? Where is the story
taking place? What is the society like? What is the underlying
point to the story?
THE PLOT:
What is the main
conflict? What are the
sub-conflicts? Are there any plot
twists? If there are plot
twists, how will they affect the conflict? What leads to the
climax? How is the climax
resolved? How does the story end? © 2014 Robi FarrisAuthor's Note
