Contemplations on a death.....

A Poem of My Death

Mouths do honor these lips grown cold, fall

On the deaf the words not told.

While among living, dare none so bold,

Broken hearts, no silence said.

O’ Wait to share, now that I am dead.

Stale breath fades and soul does mend, where

Peace has beginning, and pain an end.

Slumber wakens to become my friend.

Heartbeat lost but not my sight, to

Which is day and which is night.

Sickle swung, I’ve done my time,

Paid my toll, the bell does chime.

My hour passed, in the grave I climb,

Depart ill souls for now I am free

This final gift, life’s shared with me.

This is a very good description of, what I think, would be an honorable death in the middle ages. It seems to send of a message that there is something after death and the person in this poem is trying to figure out where they are at.

Pure excellence. It's dark, emotional, and great. The imagery is amazing. Wows. I'm not sure what else to say. You've blown me away with this one. I'm glad that you have choosen to share this with us here at the cafe.
