The Power of the Pen

A poem I wrote for a homework assignment.

Words are time and time again,

Escaping my mind through my pen,

And as the words dance across the page,

I try to stop them, a futile engage,

But then I realize that I do not want it to stop....

Valleys and oceans and lands golden,

They all escape through my pen,

And as the land shapes itself,

So do the the people, as well as an elf,

So why would I want to stop it?

A boy rises up with his ruby blade,

To save the land from an evil which has ruled for a decade,

All that he knows and cares for is as such,

An impossible task, he knows as much,

The tension! I must not stop!

Deep in forests and across blazing deserts with no end,

He walks on with his faithful dog friend,

They battle fiends and monsters who commited sins,

Who have poisoned minds, as well as grotesque skin,

Why would I stop now after all that he's been through?

Stories of deception and stories of love,

All tie together for the battle which all will talk of,

But who will win the war that has raged on for years worse and better,

Will it be the humans, pure of soul, or the witches, wizards and a big monster?

How will I know if I stop?

The last chapter, I can't stop now!

I must wait out for the fight!

I must write of blades clashing, hearts pouding, overlarge crowds,

Ceaseless noise and stormy rainclouds,

Why would I ever stop?

Finally after many hours of raw defying,

Swords stabbing and arrows flying,

The humans have won out the final fight,

Their enemies have surrended to the victors, bow down to their might,

See what I've written?

The boy who helped defeat the strife,

Grew up and settled down with a wife,

And as our story ends,

I hope you're full of compends,

And understand the power of the pen.

Aw I really love this! Writing is wonderful, so it's hard to stop until you're finished. Very creative, I liked it..especially the last stanza :) I love how you ended it.
