Plight of the Dreamer

Plight of the Dreamer

A Poem by Sirajudin Matin

Look at this world of sleeping puppets!
Why won't they awaken?
Claim this land as was promised,
And shape this future for man.

These demons they carry,
Seemed all to inviting.
Yet these brains aren't for wasting,
And stripped down past the bones-
I'd say we all came from nothing!

So let us walk these eight paths.
Free from the battles of the heavens below.
We don't need a messiah,
Just to remember this will of our own.

For the hate we give children
Has continued to grow,
And now each generation's a monster.
Baring teeth for their own.

These Corporations fell like Angels;
And now are rising like devils
Enslaving our brothers,
And raping our lands.

We could have this together,
If you would simply embrace me.
Abandon this need for a self-pitying greed.
Take this government shapeless,
Like a god perverted,
And break it down to rebuild it
We could have Heaven now,
Just stand up and allow it.
