On Thrones Built for DivinityA Poem by Sirajudin Matin
Cities will burn in my wake,
Is this what you want me to say? So make your move, My fallen princess… Because tonight angels are dying for me! As they line up like pins at the end of an alley, You’ll never strike them down, All you’ll ever get is gutter! You can’t have this throne again, We didn’t like you anyway! And yes! Yes it’s true, I stand at fault too! But I’ll take half the blame, Because tonight it feels like, Like god is on my side! As I sit on thrones built for the divine! My paradise has suffered, From your adolescent ways, You could have stabbed me in the back, And I’d be alone to take the blame, As the knife belonged to me! But time can heal all wounds, Now that you’ve been cast aside… © 2011 Sirajudin Matin |
