Betrayed

Betrayed

A Poem by Sirajudin Matin

What Thoughts compelled you?
What desire has committed such crime?
Such treason to faith and to life,
With your act, a piece of me is broken,
A piece of you has died.

The sour taste of disappointment,
Stings my eyes,
This broken piece,
The core of my body and soul,
It sings to me,
It sings to me a song of sorrow,
Of pain and of passion.

Shattered by your empty decision,
Blood seeps through the cracks of broken trust,
Draining my pride and scoffing my love,
As I cry for you,
For your mischievous smile,
For your shinning soul and your innocent eyes,
For the memories I'm forgetting,
As I cherish what is left of you.
