What Servants Hand

What Servants Hand

A Poem by Sirajudin Matin

Let me take the weight off of you,
For I have given up on seeing light,
I’ve let the dark engulf my body,
I stand with lantern in hand,
Let me walk with you.

Let me take the beating for you,
The harsh intentions in their eyes,
Let me do the crying for you,
For your smile keeps me strong,
Let me take the disapproval,
For I stand tall in pride.

Let me know all two faces,
And let them fear mine,
Let the world assault me,
With arrows of hate,
For I am as steel,
And know nothing but love.
Set your weight upon me,
For I know I can carry more.
