Some People Laugh

Some People Laugh

A Poem by Sirajudin Matin

Some people laugh,
When your arms have been severed,
You walk aimlessly,
All you want is something to hold you,
To keep your heart from freezing over.

Some people laugh,
When your legs have fallen,
They stand rotting before you,
Squirming! Struggling to find some direction,
As your momentum if failing.

Some people laugh…
As the strength is drained from you,
Your muscles stop moving,
Your eyes start to glaze,
Your voice finally fading.

And some people laugh…
As you lay there forgotten,
Useless and limp,
Given up on struggling,
Your life simply flooded,
Drowned out by the laughing…
